Skeet and Trap Safety Rules

Skeet Shooting Schedule     Skeet Handicap System     Skeet and Trap Safety Rules

Keith Faticone is our Range Manager. He has the authority to prohibit any member or guest from shooting at any time, if in his judgment, the shooter is not qualified, is under the influence of alcohol or violates any safety rules.

Breeches and over and under guns must be open at all times. No shells may be loaded in guns until you are on station, in position and barrel pointed away from the Skeet House.

If a shell is dropped when loading on a station, do not pick it up. Use another shell, finish shooting that station, then pick it up before the next shooter steps up.

Unloading the skeet gun after the gun has been fired is critical. Remain on the station, gun pointed out towards the range, break the gun's action and remove the spent shells before you walk off the station or turn around.

When shooting trap or five stand, do not load ammunition until the person before you have safely fired.

Do not load two shells when shooting singles, unless approved by range personnel.

The field is open from 10:00am to 4:00pm for shooters every Saturday and Sunday. If you or a guest would like instruction, please make arrangements with Keith.

If you are planning on bringing guests, new and/or inexperienced shooters please contact Keith by Thursday before the visit so appropriate plans can be made.
